Mother Tongue Education

Language is the main instrument of thinking in addition to understanding and communication among people. A person thinks in the language which he/she speaks; produces and acts in the way as he/she thinks.

In this significant period in which the foundation of mother tongue competency is laid, our aim, as Çevre College Primary School, is to train individuals who:

• have a brilliant comprehension and correct performance of Turkish language,
• like their language and that are aware of the rules therein,
• have advanced skills to express themselves, their opinions and feelings,
• have a rich vocabulary knowledge,
• are accustomed to, and have pleasure in listening and reading,
• have complete and accurate reading and listening comprehension,
• criticize, analyze and examine,

and that make use of creative-thinking methods.
