3rd Grades ‘Tombiş Tekir’Studying    

The first of the target-hunting book that our 3rd grade students will read during the 2019-2020 academic year is Tombiş Tekir.

This book attracted our students’ attention quickly with its fluent and engrossing narration.

Some students ended up the book in one breathe, without using the time that was given by the teachers. In fact, the topic of the book is the same as the one they already know from their own life: Bullying.               

Tombiş Tekir is the main character of the book who acts without thinking. His family, siblings, neighbours, friends, and all his acquaintances are fed up with him. He doesn't care about the people who care about him.His obstinacy increases as he grows older. He has no limits in bullying. Also he is a glutton.               

A lot of events take place in the book. Everybody is fed up with Tombiş Tekir’s rudeness and bullying.
Even his mother and siblings are helpless. Tombiş Tekir unexpectedly realizes that everything what he did upset the people around him, and he regrets it.

Thanks to this book, our students could think, talk and discuss about how bad bullying was. Their awareness increased and they recalled the value of goodness.

The students read and evaluated the book in groups. This form of activity   thaught them teamwork and co-operation, and also gave an opportunity of creating   gorgeous product at the end.
