Environment Award to Ali Nihat Gökyiğit, the Founding and Honorary President of ÇEDBİK and TEMA, on the World Environment Day from Çevre College
On 30th May, Çevre College proudly celebrated the 16th “Green Globe ", which is an environmental award given to institutions and organizations that are sensitive to environmental problems voted for every year by our students. This year, “Green Globe Award” was presented to Ali Nihat Gökyiğit who is the TEMA Founding and Honorary President and gives life to Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanic Garden with his passion of nature. Çevre College General Manager Leyla Bilgin presented Gökyiğit’s award after the show of Çevre Polyphony team and a video presentation.
Ali Nihat Gökyiğit, who expressed his admiration for our school and our students, started by saying, "I am very happy to be with Çevre College’s guards of the environment." He informed our students by giving examples of endemic plants. He stressed out the importance of being conscious and protective individuals in support of our nature, stating that the formation of natural forests requires many years. He said, "Do not upset the nature, watch it."
We are thankful that he spared his valuable time to be with us despite his advancing age; we congratulate him for being sensitive towards environmental issues, loving his country, trying to raise awareness among young people on the way that Ataturk has enlightened him.
