In the 13th annual First Lego League Competition held in Turkey, Cevre College IT Club High School students were awarded the "Programming Award" with an application to take the stray animals to professional vets in case of emergency and middle school students were awarded the "Best Mechanical Design Award" with a robot they designed.
The theme of the competition this year was “Animal Allies” and our students created an application being inspired by the dog which was saved from the well it fell down after 10 days.
With this application, in case of emergency, it will be possible for the smart phone user to define his location and contact a vet within 5km. It requires a special “QR” Code to upload the application in an android phone and then as it gives the direction to the closest vet clinic chosen enabling the one to reach the vet as soon as possible.
The mobile application developed by Cevre High School students Mustafa Cem Büyükalpelli, Ece Sevenay, Kaan Su, Özen Akkoyun, Batuhan Akgüneş, Mert Sezer, Alp Özakın and Mert Efe Şaşar will be available in “Play Store” to be uploaded for free.
